I need to read this again! You are right that there is no such course to take at university. But almost immediately, I thought that is not because no on thought of it, but because many of us think that if civilizations come or go, that is God’s work. We have been instructed how to live in peace and love one another, but so, we have found that too difficult, even in our own families.
Thanks for the praise! You’re right to ask. But this isn’t about pushing another ideology. Continuism gives a name to what a lot of people already feel, and it’s aimed at thinkers for now. We’ve got other tools and ideas coming that will reach the public without ever mentioning an -ism. This is just the beginning.
David, you say you have tools and ideas to reach the public without ever mentioning an-ism. I am pleased you have other ideas on this topic but I believe it would be wise to mention this ism as much as you possibly can! I believe I may have been the first to like your comment on this subject when it first appeared although I may be wrong, but the reason I liked it and noticed it in the first place was my appreciation and beauty of the word itself and the way it leaves the tongue. I have just typed in “continuism meaning” in my search bar on my phone and it appears, rather shyly admittedly but appears nonetheless, yet in this post I am writing now it still gets underlined as if it’s not a real word. I am going to mention it to people as much as I can and if asked what it means I’ll just say look it up, hopefully that helps, even just a little! Regards Patrick
Well yes, I agree we certainly need a philosophy to counter the nihilism that's destroying us. A couple of years ago I coined the expression the 'Great Rebirth' to replace the so-called Great Reset.
Technocracy and scientism have failed and life, biology, ecology need to be at the centre of the replacement. The Buddha had a lot of useful stuff to say 2,500 years ago. Anyway, I have my own occasional blog at https://planet-people.org/ and would be interested in any comments
I’ll read the posts on your website when I get a chance tomorrow. But in the meantime, whatever you do just mention continuism. it can be a criticism. I don’t mind just as long as it gets attention. Attention is action.
Yes! Nature will win though. The ones looking to control us are doing it cheaply. Had they kept us happy and fed, we would have had a full fledged Brave New World society.
But they wanted to do it cheap and/or have suffering, so they went the 1984 route since Orwell's time. Remember, he was writing what he thought the future would look like with the bullshit of his time.
We have a turn key utopia if we just cut out the parasitic loss in the system which feeds the dystopian angles.
The military, spying, corporate profiteering, curing diseases that we cause with bad medicine... Etc the list goes on.
Very interesting and thought provoking article. I think that global capitalism is the primary source of power that is reshaping humanity. Through a global network of likeminded corporations they seek to control humanity not directly but to shape the rules and regulations that dominate all of our lives. They do it from a realm far beyond any notion of democracy. Acting via the WEF the UN and countless NGOs and Think tanks and very powerful lobby groups that have overpowered governments and media outlets.
They seek to erase what hinders the access to profits including human cultures. We’re are being reshaped to become as inert and obedient as money; No culture, no language, no race, no borders and no national identity.
I trust in God’s plan of Salvation for humankind in Jesus. He will return and rule over a redeemed planet. But, sadly there will be a tribulation to get through first. We don’t fight flesh and blood but dark principalities and forces opposed to God. The darkness is surging towards its climax. God wins in the end! 🙏🏻
Amen. In heaven with God, the Son and Holy Spirit beats anything we humans could dream up. If we are lucky, It takes most of our lives and a lot of humility to trust Divine Love in all instances and surrender our egos to Divine Wisdom!
It would be nice to define principles of action that support continuism. Enough talk, time to act. 3 basic principles that, if applied daily, would change society.
A start but i was more aiming at daily actions all of us can do to support Continuism. You see, Continuism is a philosophy, but a philosophy starts with very basic practices that spread across the population. Socratics rely on very tangible practices. The same if you/we want Continuism to emerge. Make it actionable at everyone's level, otherwise it will stay at the stage of the idea (please take no offense for this). Imagine you meet me in the street and you want me to embed, in my daily routine, 3 basic actions that will support the philosophy of Continuism. What would you advise me to do?
Exactly what I said above. It’s not a silver bullet. It’s a long game. How can you think these three points I gave you are not action? Attention. Understanding. Continue to live normally (continuity).
They are too vague. I have worked for 25 years in change management, and if i provide these types of advice to teams, they do not know what to do, or they are going into their interpretation of what they heard. Trust me, i like your mindset, but the actionability is very poor. I invite you to talk to People face to face and check with them what they have put in place 2 or 3 weeks later to contribute to Continuism. Always confront your idea with the reality on the ground. Cheers
You’re overcomplicating what is, at this stage, deliberately simple.
This isn’t a behaviour checklist—it’s the launch of a philosophy. The action right now isn’t daily rituals, it’s naming the thing, sharing the name, and standing by it when it counts.
Want something concrete? Get one influencer, one writer, one thinker to mention the name Continuism. That will do more for the future than a thousand well-intentioned “practices.”
I disagree based on the numerous concepts i have followed over the past 5 years. Concepts that persisted were the actionable ones. Others remained ideas. Let's revisit this in a few years.
I had a dream that my mom and I were walking through a new fire department that had just been completed. "Watch out for the gold paint" I warned, as we walked over freshly painted stripes on the floor. When I woke up, I knew, it wasn't a good fire station. It was like a fire station from the (1966) movie Fahrenheit 451. And it had just been completed.
David while I appreciate your intentions and integrity with regards to the philosophical concepts that you propose in Continuism I personally think that the survival of our humanity and our species by and large is in grave danger right now. You are not specific enough about this continuous war on our humanity and fail to spell out as to where it's emanating from exactly. I have my own idea and confirmation of where this assault stems from because if you're not precisely willing to name your enemy in this battle for the soul of humanity then it's all a lot of blather and a blindfold leading to reckless failure for all of mankind. Know thyne enemy!
Thanks for your comment—I appreciate it. Honestly, you’re in the same place I was not long ago.
We’re in the middle of a huge war, but the boundaries haven’t been properly drawn. Most people don’t even agree on what we’re fighting for, never mind against. And if we don’t know what we’re fighting for, how can we possibly identify the enemy?
That’s the realisation I had. I had to take a step back—right back to basics—and ask: what exactly are we fighting for?
It’s like what John Waters said in his email the other day which I assume you saw. A man on the street asked him, “What do you want?” and John answered, “Freedom”—but neither of them was truly convinced by the answer. It’s the same with us. We reach for words like freedom, truth, justice… but they’re not enough. They’re fragments. What we’re fighting for is bigger than that.
That’s why I’ve chosen to start with the most basic idea of all: that humanity continues. That we go on—not under elite control, not digitised or managed or shrunk—but walking forward as adults, dealing with our own problems in our own time, progressing naturally and organically, as we always have.
That includes raising children, preserving culture, building a future—everything people instinctively want. That’s what we’re really fighting for when we march, when we speak out, when we resist.
So before we name the enemy, we need to remind people what they’re for. Once enough people understand that, then we can move to Phase Two: identifying what went wrong, who’s responsible, and how we fight back.
That’s coming. I’m launching another project in September to answer exactly those questions. But before we can answer them, we need a shared foundation.
This philosophy—Continuism—gives us that foundation. It gives us:
A unifying cause
A protected belief
A shared language and clear definitions
A moral compass
A way to identify true allies and real threats
A peaceful starting point
A cultural strategy that artists, musicians, and writers can carry
A lens through which to understand what’s happening
A solid canon of thought and values
A focused attention on what matters
That’s why I’m not yet naming names or listing enemies. Until we know what we truly stand for, we risk being divided or misdirected. Once that foundation is in place, the next step becomes obvious.
Hi David ,having returned home after a windy evening walk and read your reply to my comment again the first thing I must say is that ten years ago my mentally and philosophical outlook was very similar to what you espouse now . The reason that I am very quizzical of people within this alternative sphere is simply because most of them are occultic charlatans while pretending to be either traditional Catholics ,devout biblical Christians or new age pagans striving for freedom but falling in supplication to the deceptive infiltration and falling under the a spell of the "magical supremaciy " of the Elohim cult. I have enough of this ambivalence as we now in the heat of this spiritual and existential battle and it's much to late in the day to be making daisy chains as you suggest as we (humanity)are now chained to this monster and fed tidbits by it only in a need to know minute by minute basis.
This biblical beast aims to eventually devour all the "idolaters" outside the zionist cult membership and they are just getting on with that job of work this very moment in the Gazan concentration death camp . Now is the time for action to stop this and to nail our colours to the mast otherwise you and me are next on their worksheet!
I like this idea a lot. There is a gap in thinking, in ideas and concepts, which is Continuism. Will think further on this.
It’ll mean different things to different people.
Mostly, I just want to be left alone, and to interact with a small number of people who are important to me. Not a big ask.
Thanks Mike.

Great idea. Definitely pulls me towards it. Such a positive thought.
Love the ideas and the intent behind them. Not sure I resonate with the name, do you really think we can be saved by yet another "ism"?

1. Give it your attention
2. Discuss it in the open
3. Use it as a protected belief
There… three basic principles… more than most campaigns or organisations will give
you.
No more talk… just action!

Jesus is returning to Earth within a decade, I predict. Upon him be Allah's Peace. Aameen.
